Special Issue Dedicated to Hamao Umezawa: In memory of Professor Umezawa on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of global kanamycin marketing The January issue of The Journal of Antibiotics is dedicated to Professor Hamao Umezawa on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of global kanamycin marketing. He was a board member of The Journal of Antibiotics from its first issue in 1947 until his death in 1986 and contributed to it gaining its reputation as a leading international journal.
We would like to thank his friends and followers who contributed to this special issue, as well as Managing Editor Dr. Yoshikazu Takahashi and Dr. Manabu Kawada for planning and coordinating this issue.
