2017 annual review of NICE quality standards

The following topics have been approved by NICE's Guidance Executive for a full update. The listed quality standards [PDF] will be prioritised for inclusion in the 2018/19 work programme by the organisations that commission them:

  • QS1 Dementia: support in health and social care
  • QS3 Venous thromboembolism: prevention
  • QS17 Lung cance
  • QS29 Venous thromboembolism in adults: diagnosis and management
  • QS30 Dementia: independence and wellbeing
  • QS33 Rheumatoid arthritis in over 16s

Quality improvement resource tool for adult social care

The new tool brings together NICE quality standards and guidelines in an easy to use format, mapped against Care Quality Commission key lines of enquiry. 

Though aimed primarily at social care commissioners the tool it is also useful to provider organisations and people who fund their own care.

A NICE scholar needs your help!

Dr Rebecca Hall is part of the NICE Scholar programme this year and she needs your help. She is rolling out a primary care system to help GPs to offer evidence based screening for HIV, Hepatitis B and C and tuberculosis for high risk groups. This is based on NICE and Public Health England guidelines.
