GWAAC Newsletter

Welcome to the latest edition of our newsletter! We'd like to say a big thank you to everyone who supported as at the Bristol International Balloon Fiesta, we had a great weekend chatting to lots of you and thank you to everyone who gave so generously. During the 4 days we managed to raise a staggering £10,900, so if you volunteered or managed to come down and support us - thank you!

You can also support us through our partnership with Bristol Energy, by quoting the code "GWAAC" when you switch your gas and electricity to our local energy supplier.

Bristol Energy will donate up to £30 for every switch, saving customers on average £200 per year on their energy bills, and reinvest profits back into local communities – so it's a win-win for everybody!

Click here to switch (and don't forget to quote the code "GWAAC" when you do)! http://bristol-energy.co.uk/gwaac"

Welcome to our newest team members!

This August we had three new Critical Care Paramedics and our latest Pre-hospital emergency medicine (PHEM) trainee Dr join us. Which meant we sadly said goodbye to Dr Cosmo Scurr who has been with us for the past year full time, he has now returned to London to start his next role.

The talented four are currently being put through their paces with intensive training covering all areas of working within the GWAAC Critical Care Team. By far the most challenging, the PHEM training course in Moreton-in -Marsh saw our new recruits spend seven days being challenged with providing pre-hospital emergency medicine in the most difficult conditions they could ever be faced with. This included showing their skills during train and plane incidents, working at heights, in confined spaces, in buildings on fire and road traffic collisions involving multiple trapped patients. Fun fact for you - the country's shortest motorway exists at the training centre!

Congratulations to our newest team members, we're so excited to have you and your skills on-board saving lives!
Thank you so much to everyone who has made a donation, left a gift in their will or volunteered their time for us. We couldn't keep flying and saving your lives without your support!

If you'd like to keep up to date with what we're up to, please do follow is on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
With best wishes.
