Do the right thing so your staff "Go Home Healthy"

New campaign website

HSE's National Conference in September which amongst other things introduced HSE's Health Priority and Sector plans' and also highlighted the work of the new Health and Work programme that primarily targets work-related stress, lung diseases (particularly long latency conditions) and Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSDs). This new focus on health issues includes a drive to promote awareness and understanding of these topics and how they fit into the HSE's future plans.

Part of that campaign has been a new microsite supporting the HSE's key messages on these and other health topics. So far the response to the website has been very positive - initial statistics show that the microsite has been viewed 10,714 times since its launch with an average user time of 2.22 minutes spent on the site. The videos have been viewed 6,850 times in total. The stress page has attracted the highest engagement with the most views and time spent on the page.

If you want to get involved please have a look at the website http://www.hse.gov.uk/gohomehealthy/index.htm and make sure your doing the right thing to send your staff home healthy!

Forthcoming events

Dates for your diary

Following on from the success of the HSE Stress Summit in March and the recent HSE Summit , there are plans for two more events. On 22nd November there will be a Workplace Healthy Lung Summit at the QEII Conference Centre in London.

The day will be useful to employers, health and safety professionals, unions, manufacturers of respiratory risk solutions and services and those in Key industry sectors - construction, manufacturing (including stone-working, metal fabrication, bakeries and woodworking) and quarries.

For more information about the Lung Summit or to reserve your place go to https://www.hsl.gov.uk/healthy-lungs

HSE will be holding a further Summit on work-related Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSDs) on 21st March 2018 at the QEII Centre, London.

We will showcase a number of new and re-energised approaches to help you tackle MSD problems. We know that MSDs affect many workers, they arise from many work activities in various workplaces, and can result in many serious health outcomes. We therefore want to ensure this event addresses the most important issues that you have to deal with around this topic.

To register your interest in this event please email training@hsl.gsi.gov.uk
