Official Recognition Workshop

HSE's Chemicals Regulation Division (CRD) will be holding a one day workshop on Official Recognition. The workshop will be held at the Chemicals Regulation Division in York on Thursday 25th January 2018.  Registration will begin from 9:00 am. The workshop will start at 9:30 am and finish around 4:30 pm.  The cost per delegate to attend the workshop will be £500.00 (plus VAT).

Introduction /Format of the Day

Under Commission Regulation (EU) No 545/2011 Efficacy trials submitted in support of applications for authorisation of Plant Protection Products are required to be conducted by Official or Officially Recognised Testing Facilities.  This one day workshop will focus on and provide information about the UK's Official Recognition scheme for efficacy testing. The day will consist of both presentations and practical exercises for attendees to undertake.

Topics of discussion

  • Background legislation.
  • Roles and responsibilities associated with the UK Official Recognition scheme.
  • The application process, inspection, and various certification issues.
  • Advice on how to satisfy the regulatory requirements.
  • Problems HSE commonly encounters with applications and on-site inspections.
  • Specific topics such as: protocols, report writing, archiving, SOPs and record keeping.
  • Practical exercises for delegates to undertake relating to the chemical store, equipment, and the conduct of a trials audit.

Registrations

Because of the nature of the event, places are limited to a maximum of 16 people, and will be issued on a first-come first-served basis.
