NHS Health and Care Innovation Expo

11th - 12th September 2017, Manchester

Expo is the only major conference in England focused on innovation across all aspects of health and social care.

NICE will have a stand at the expo, and will be hosting several pop-up university sessions. The sessions will cover topic areas including:

  • medicines optimisation
  • digital therapy 
  • improving the transfer of care between services and settings
NICE CEO Andrew Dillon will host a discussion on the main stage called: "Innovation: aligning ambition, capacity and access". He will be joined by Mike Thompson, Chief Executive of the ABPI, John Stewart, Director of Specialised Commissioning at NHS England and Amanda Sullivan, Chief Officer, Mansfield and Ashfield CCG.

Guidelines on weight management for service delivery - Public Health England has published a new weight management services guide. The guide includes information and resources around the design and delivery of the service.

It has recommendations to help health professionals discuss weight management with patients and increase referrals to the service.

The guide is co-badged with NICE, the Local Government Association, the Association of the Directors of Public Health and Royal College of Physicians. More...
